Screenprinting a.k.a. silkscreening a.k.a. the ability to print photos, designs, logos or text onto any medium you like. Simple to learn, boundless with possibilities. This 3-part workshop will equip you with the knowledge and tools to create your own design and reproduce it to your heart’s content.

Course fee is $179 + HST
Fabric and ink are included. There is an optional $35 fee if you would like to keep your screen after the class.)
Class Outline: (3 weeks, 3 hours/class)
- Class One – Intro: Get to know the history behind screenprinting and the different ways people have used it. Then we jump right into designing your image. Bring ideas! and a laptop if you like.
- Class Two – Burn ‘n’ Blow: Prepare the screen for printing and learn other ways to alter your fabric.
- Class Three – Printing! Bring nice paper, a favourite t-shirt, fabric or pillowcase to decorate with your very own screen. Muslin fabric will be provided to print on as well.
Techniques: Screenprinting, tin canning, tiedye, freeware graphic design, safety, stencilling
Supplies: All necessary inks and chemicals and fabric will be provided. You have the option to keep your screen for yourself after the class is over ($35~ fee). Feel free to bring your own inspiration images and materials to print on as well.
Please note: Make-up classes will NOT be offered for this class. You will be responsible for any classes missed, please ensure that you are available during the class dates and times.
