Screenprinting a.k.a. silkscreening provides participants with the ability to print photos, designs, logos, or text onto any medium you like. It’s simple to learn, and has boundless possibilities. This 3-part workshop will equip you with the knowledge and tools to create your own 1-colour design and reproduce it to your heart’s content.

Course fee is $179 + HST
Basic fabric and ink are included. There is an optional $35 fee if you would like to keep your screen after the class.
Class Outline: (3 weeks, 3 hours/class)
- Class One – Demo: Printing process demonstration including screen preparation, ink mixing, printing, and clean-up. Practice printing with the demo screen. Learn different methods for making a print-ready image. Look at some examples of screenprinted projects.
- Class Two – Practice: Bring your own image to print, prepare your screen, and practice your printing technique. Optionally, if you would like assistance with image development, you can work on an image for printing next week. Bring digital files on a USB drive or your own laptop if you’d like.
- Class Three – Final Project: Continue working with your screen from last week, or print a second image.
Some fabric will be provided to print on, but you might want to also bring nice paper, blank t-shirts, tote bags, fabric, tea towels, pillowcases, or other materials to decorate with your very own design.

Supplies: All necessary inks, chemicals, and some basic fabric will be provided. Feel free to bring your own materials to print on as well. You have the option to keep your screen for yourself after the class is over ($35 fee).
Please note: Make-up classes will NOT be offered for this class. You will be responsible for any classes missed. Please ensure that you are available during the class dates and times.
